  • So first you rip up the carpet....
  • Even from the stairs... (let's not tell Diane yet that we really don't have a clue how to do the stairs....)

  • Then you put down the plastic over the concrete slab and the "Pergo Pad" dense particle board stuff, followed by the first row of flooring.
  • Some agonizing 25 working (not elapsed) hours later, we're almost done with the family room...

  • Day 3, somewhere around the 36th working hour we laid the last board.  Now, all we had left were the stairs...
  • Oh yeah, the stairs.  The first one took an hour.  At that rate, we weren't going to finish in our lifetimes.  Luckily, we got better and actually finished laying Pergo on day 3.

  • The finished product!
  • So, the first thing we do... buy a new rug to put over it!

  • Now, the gas stove to make it toasty...
  • And finally, the guest room. 

 

 

We won't be doing this again anytime soon!!!!
